What is Kickstarter?
Kickstarter is a funding platform for creative projects.
Last night on The Candi & Randy Show, we spoke to Emmy Award winning writer Leslie Nipkow and Broadway veteran T Oliver Reid about their success with the fund-raising program.
I've featured several Kickstarter projects on The Randy Report in the past, and so I wanted to explore the whole enchilada and find out from folks who have found success with the program what the experience was like and what tips they may have for those thinking about raising funds for a creative project through Kickstarter.

Every project creator sets their project's funding goal and deadline. If the project succeeds in reaching its funding goal all backers' credit cards are charged when time expires. If the project falls short no one is charged.Check out more at www.kickstarter.com
Since it's launch in April 2009:
• $331 million pledged to projects
• 2.6 million people have backed a project
• 28,000 projects successfully funded
But Kickstarter is about much more than money. People come to Kickstarter to build community around their projects. It's inspiring to be supported by people you know, and amazing to connect with strangers who are discovering your ideas for the first time.
TIME Magazine listed Kickstarter as one of the Best Websites of 2011 and one of the Best Inventions of 2010.
